The Oreck Commercial OR101 Premier upright vacuum has a 12" cleaning path, Helping Hand handle, magnet bar, and 870-watt motor. This upright vacuum cleaner is better suited for cleaning carpets than typical canister vacuums and takes up less space for storage. The Helping Hand handle has received an Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation. The on/off switch is located in the handgrip for convenience. The vacuum contains a reusable cloth bag that is coated with an antimicrobial polymer that resists bacteria, mold, mildew, viruses, and corrosion. A roller brush with four bristle strips moves debris toward the vacuum inlet for cleaning. The magnet bar helps prevent small metal objects such as staples from harming the motor. The vacuum fan is reinforced for durability. The metal hood has V-shaped motor vents for air circulation, and the front housing is clear so that blockages can be spotted. A heat overload protection system helps prevent damage to the motor if the vacuum bag is full. The vacuum head can be adjusted to six positions to accommodate different flooring surfaces. The chrome hood provides access to the motor and has smooth contours that enable it to be wiped clean. The foot release pedal is made of steel, which is a rigid metal that is resistant to rust and wear. Rear wheels help facilitate transport. A 50-foot power cord enables the vacuum to cover a larger area without changing outlets than vacuums with shorter cords. Cord strain relief provides flexibility and maneuverability. I have tried all kinds of other vacuum cleaners, with no luck. I have 6 kids, 3 doge, 3 cats, bunny and guinea pig. I have tried the Shark, Bissell, Hoover, Dyson. With all of these including with the special "Pet" features, there was constant clogging of hoses. I wanted a vacuum that I could run over marbles if I wanted and continue to vacuum. NOTE: this is just a vacuum cleaner, so if you need hose attachments, keep an old vacuum cleaner around. But for your main vacuuming, this is a keeper! I love it, love it, LOVE IT!
Heavy Duty but Does NOT Use Disposable Bags!Jeff Foster
Contrary to the suggested items listed for additional bags and belts (AVOID CLICKING THE LINK BELOW!!) this vacuum does NOT use the disposable Hepa Bags as most other Oreck vacuums use! It has the old Kirby style bag that you must detach and empty when it's full. There is no Hepa filtration and you need to clean out the bag. This unit is definitely an old-school style commercial vacuum cleaner but also note that the Warranty explicitly states that purchases from online sales like Amazon or eBay will NOT be honored, so you're taking your chances with this purchase. I assume these are seconds, because ours came with a big dent in the top. Also, it takes a very specific belt - not the typical Oreck belt they try to sell you here.

I thought it would have been a sucking monster, but it wasnt. It does a fair job, but not like the reviews. I like the fact that it has a extrememly long cord so I dont have to keep finding outlets. And the bag you just dump and keep vacuuming and just wash periodically. Nice vacuum cleaner, but the suction is just like any normal vacuum cleaner nothing really special or out of the ordinary. Id recommed to anyone tired of changing bags or clogged hepa filter type vacs.

Since Amazon doesn't always list where a product is made, I want to make it clear.This was made in the USA (but not completely - it's made from global components). But, at least there is somebody in the USA getting paid to put these together.As for performance - it does its job as expected.The nice thing about this is there are no vacuum bags to buy.
The Best Vacuum Ever!Bill
This vacuum has the strongest suction ever. I've pulled so much dirt and dust out of my carpet, looks brand new. The beater bar, or the brushes, are very strong, and leave the wick or fray of the carpet feeling new and soft. I love this vacuum, as to how old school looking it looks, but its very light, and easy to maneuver around corners and under chairs, since the handle has different adjustment levels. Oreck! Your the best!
